City rail and bus tickets work differently
The 2026 Metro-Train-RER ticket is €2.55 at full fare. It allows permitted rail changes for two hours while you remain inside the network. A Bus-Tram ticket is €2.05 and allows eligible surface connections for 90 minutes. Changing from a bus to the Métro needs the rail ticket as well.
Navigo Easy is a €2 reusable card onto which you load eligible tickets. Each person travelling together needs their own pass. Validate at entry, required changes and exit gates, keeping the same ticket medium available throughout the journey.
CDG: RER B, or the Nation bus
RER B is the airport rail link from Charles de Gaulle. Gare du Nord is the destination for St Christopher’s. The People’s directions continue through Châtelet–Les Halles to metro 1 and Bastille. Use the booked hostel’s street address for the last walk.
Bus 351 runs between CDG and Nation. It may be useful for a JO&JOE stay, though Buzenval is the operator’s nearest metro reference. The 2026 Bus-Tram fare is €2.05; a separate metro leg needs its own rail ticket. The airport rail ticket costs €14 and includes permitted rail connections.
Orly: use metro 14
Metro 14 serves Aéroport d’Orly. Orlybus ended on 3 March 2025, so old directions through Denfert-Rochereau can be misleading. RER B with Orlyval and tram T7 are other network options; the simplest journey depends on the hostel address and the service running when you travel.
Bags, check-in and early departures
JO&JOE, The People and St Christopher’s normally begin room access at 15:00. St Christopher’s and FIAP have 24-hour reception, but a staffed desk does not make a room ready in the morning. JO&JOE offers storage before check-in and paid lockers after checkout; storage terms vary elsewhere.
For an early CDG flight, compare the first RER B with the N140 night bus from Gare de l’Est or a road transfer. Use the airline’s terminal-arrival deadline. A served breakfast has little value if you must leave before it opens.
